MONSTER SMOOTHIE

In January, many gets a cold. I've done a vitamin-bomb for you to prevent any sickness!

Now don't get all freaked out just because it's green!

Recipe for my monster smoothie:

1 portion

1 handful spinach
½ banana
1 handful strawberries
½ orange (just the juice!)
½ cup cold water

Use a blender to mix it all. Make sure you don't get any large bits. Put in more water if you think it's too thick. Actually, you can put in as much as you want of everything!

This is a great smoothie if you want to eat healthy, but at the same time eat something that taste sooooooooo good. This is also a great thing for kids who say the don't like vegetables. In this way, they get so much vitamins from the spinach. Say it's a Shrek-smoothie and the kids will think it's funny!

GRANOLA CRUNCH

One of the best things to eat for breakfast is yogurt and granola, at least in my opinion. The granola you buy often taste just like pure sugar. The packages says it contains healthy stuff, but hello, is chocolate or sugarpuffs healthy? No!

It's very very easy to do your own, healthy, granola. Homemade stuff are almost always the healthiest choice, and the tastiest!! So here's my contribution to the granola-society!

You need;

2 cups oatmeal
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 tsp salt
1 cup almonds
½ cup hazelnuts
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
3/4 cup dried fruit (raisins, papaya etc)
½ cup honey
3 tbsp butter
1 tbsp cinnamon

Crush/cut the nuts and seeds and mix with oatmeal, vanilla and salt in a bowl. Put the mixture in a baking dish (with sides) with baking paper. Toast for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally so it won't get burned. Melt the butter in a sauce pan.
Put the mixture in the same bowl you used before. Mix with the melted butter, honey, cinnamon and the dried fruits. Make sure you mix it very well so the dry stuff mixes with the wet. Spread it in a baking dish with baking paper and put it in the refrigerator and let it cool for about 3-4 hours.
When it's done, cut the granola with a knife until you get little pieces. Put in a jar and keep it in a dry place!

(Granola is müsli in Swedish..)

My sweet mum made the decorations on the jar!

The love of a book

I don't know if any of you have experienced it. The first time it happens you have butterflies in your stomach, your face gets red of excitement and your hands may be shaking. You never want to leave its side, and things like friends or food gets out of your mind. How could you focus on that in that moment anyway?

It's the day you fall in love with a book.

You're very lucky if you are in love with a book. A book can give you so much.

My love for Harry Potter is unconditional. I love it so much. It's sometimes hard for people to understand this, for them it's just another book in the shelf. They think I'm really goofy (even though I'm not a hardcore-fan with HP-robes and a wand in my pocket. I don't judge those fans by the way) and I understand that it's hard to get, but at the same time I feel sorry for them. They can't understand me, and that shows that they've never felt this way. Sorry you guys, you've missed out on great stuff. It's an awesome feeling grabbing that book that you love so dearly and just read, even though you've read those chapters a million times before. A warmth spreads in your body.

I think it's time to stop think people who love a book is crazy. It doesn't matter if it's Harry Potter, Twilight or any other book - just stop! If you want to see the person happy, why ruin the thing that makes them happy? Start reading like mad yourself instead, and see if you find a book that will change your life.

Winter or spring?

The birds are chripring, it's green grass in the garden, and it's not exactly cold outside. Is it spring or winter? The Christmas is over for me now, so it doesn't matter if spring comes early and I don't get any snow. I'm looking forward to do my powerwalks without three layers of clothes! Winter can come next winter instead.

The year of 2011

When the spring came I was happy. Last winter was so, so long. I went to a park called Slottskogen with my friend Amelie and smelled fresh air.

I became 18 years old! I celebrated it with drinks and dinner with my relatives. It was a happy day.

This is my lovely grand mother. One day in May I made an interview with her about her youth, for a project in school. It was fun to hear her talk about things like alcohol and boys and how it was when she was young. And I think this was one of the first summer days 2011.

We celebrated my mums birthday by having an icecream-party!

Summer came and I colored my hair red. Me and some friends went to sit near a festival to hear Coldplay, and had a splendid picnic. I celebrated midsummer with my family.

In July 'til August I worked as a newspaper distributor. What a terrible job. I worked in the nights and was so tired all days, so I spent them cuddling with the doggie and with a bit of sunbathing.

Autumn came and I visited my sister in Hallsberg where she lives. We had an awesome weekend! I also had scrabble-night with some friends. I didn't win.

I made myself into a vampire around Halloween. It was the funniest photoshoot I've ever done.

Winter came..oh no wait, it didn't! All of what should have been winter, was more like autumn. Not fun for a snow freak like me!! Well. I spend Christmas with my family and it was nice.

Now it's 2012, so weird!
